Grief – On Your Mind
When someone close to you is very ill or has died, there is no right or wrong way to feel.
You might feel angry, sad, confused or completely lost. It’s natural to feel a whole host of emotions and it is important to remember that whatever you are feeling, it is okay to feel that way.
Grief after bereavement or loss
Most people experience grief when they lose something or someone important to them. If these feelings are affecting your life, there are things you can try that may help.
Support is also available if you're finding it hard to cope with stress, anxiety or depression.
What to do after someone dies: Register the death
Register the death within 5 days (8 days in Scotland) - this includes weekends and bank holidays.
You’ll get a ‘certificate for a burial’ to give to the funeral director, or an application for cremation which you need to complete and give to the crematorium.
