We are based in West Swindon, and we do clothing adaptations and alterations for anyone with a disability, or over 65 years of age.
“Tailored to Fit Your Needs”
Imagine if you weren’t able to choose your own clothes?
For some, mobility impairments restrict their ability to put on or remove items of clothing, meaning they have limited choice in what they wear. This can be due to specific requirements relating to body shape or the need to carry medical accessories in garments which just refuse to look right once on!
For most people getting dressed in clothing of their choice is something taken for granted. However, if you have a disability or a long-term health condition it can be a different story ~ that’s where Dressability can help!
Difficulties with fabric, fit and fastenings can be restrictive and limiting when choosing what to wear, inhibiting personal style and preference, and this can seriously impact on pride in appearance and how you feel about yourself.
Through engaging with the challenges faced by our range of clientele on an individual basis, the team at Dressability focus is on making a positive difference to the lives of individuals living with disabilities. From jeans to jackets, dresses to dungarees and skirts to shirts, the constant whirr of sewing machines in our busy workroom, enables clients to wear user-friendly clothing in which to feel good in – promoting independence and wellbeing.
As a charity the majority of our income is from charitable trusts, (and we’ve also had funding from the National Lottery), and so our fees are heavily subsidised.
