Horatio’s Garden nurtures the wellbeing of people after spinal injury in beautiful, vibrant sanctuaries within the heart of NHS spinal injury centres.
Our first garden, located in the heart of the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Centre at Salisbury District Hospital, opened in 2012.
We are currently looking for more volunteers to help support patients in the garden. Patient Support Volunteers offer warm and supportive help to the patients through friendly chat, assistance, and respect. Your support is fundamental to the wellbeing of patients, helping them engage with and be welcomed to the garden and its activities.
Volunteers will support patients to access the garden and take part in activities. Training will be given in moving wheelchairs.
