The Wiltshire Shout service has now launched and is being provided by Mental Health Innovations, the charity that powers the national text SHOUT service. This has been funded via the Supplementary Substance Misuse Treatment and Recovery Grant, which can be used for projects that provide a ‘better and more integrated response to physical and mental health issues’.
The service we are commissioning is Wiltshire specific – individuals will be able to text WILTS to 85258 to receive free, confidential support from a trained volunteer via text message. Where appropriate, the texters will receive Wiltshire specific signposting and we as commissioners will receive data around the types of support being offered/reasons for texters using the service.
Trained volunteers are there for you 24/7 to listen and support you to get to a calmer and safe place. Shout is a free, confidential, anonymous service for anyone in the Wiltshire. It won’t appear on your phone bill.
