The Wellbeing Programme provides nature-based activities for people living with mental health issues like anxiety, depression, low mood and stress.

Participants get involved in conservation work, wildlife walks and nature-based crafts. Research shows that this type of outdoor activity can be beneficial to both mental and physical wellbeing.

Sessions are delivered in line with government and public health guidelines.

Wellbeing in Bradford on Avon

Our programme started in April 2023, thanks to the generous funding from Wiltshire Council. It was open to people who live in the Bradford on Avon area with mild to moderate mental health issues or who were living with social isolation or loneliness.

Our programme offered a wide range of nature-based activities, such as guided walks, mindfulness in nature, nature photography, and bird watching. Our programme was designed to help participants develop a deeper connection with nature, reduce stress, anxiety, and social isolation and improve overall wellbeing.

For more information on this programme, please email Imogen Jackson at [email protected] or phone 07702 802961.

"Being in nature in the fresh air, and the meditation by the river was lovely. The teamwork was great. It made me really happy - it was so nice to see everyone, and there was a real sense of achievement."
"I really enjoyed the teamwork… and seeing plants and butterflies in the meadow and woods. It has been great talking with people and learning new skills."

Wellbeing in Swindon

The programme in Swindon started running in 2017 thanks to funding from the Big Lottery Fund. The programme provides nature-based activities for people struggling with their mental health.

There are two groups that meet weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The Swindon Wellbeing leaflet explains in more detail what is offered in this programme. If you are interested in applying, please download the Swindon referral form, fill it in and return to us as indicated.

If you would like to discuss joining the Wellbeing Programme, feel free to give Melanie Vincent a call for a confidential chat on 07849 090 862, or send us an email to [email protected]
