Working for a better community in Calne

Heart of the Community pride itself in listening to the needs of the community to enable us to engage with them in a meaningful way. Heart of the Community realised very quickly that there was a real issue with social isolation and that company was just as important as food. 

​Our primary aim is to be a non-anxious presence when engaging with the community, offering support in all aspects of life, and providing a drop-in centre for all ages, backgrounds, or abilities.

​This service would not be possible without our daily volunteers who give up their time free of charge.

With the help of these valuable volunteers, we find it a privilege to serve the community the way we do and all our volunteers feel honoured to give their time to give something back to the community in all of the activities we offer.

In addition, we provide:

  • Assistance in Job-searches, completing application forms and writing CVs.
  • Emotional and practical support.
  • Crafting activities.
