For years, I struggled with fibroids—a condition that caused me physical pain, emotional stress, and uncertainty about my health. Like many women, I experienced symptoms that were often dismissed or misunderstood. I went through countless appointments, tried different treatments, and carried the burden quietly, as fibroids are rarely talked about openly in our communities.
Eventually, my journey led me to a hysterectomy. It was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make—one that came with deep emotional and physical consequences. But it also became a turning point. From that place of loss and healing, I found a new purpose. I realized how many women, especially in the Afro-Caribbean community, suffer in silence. I knew I had to speak up—not just for myself, but for every woman who feels alone in this struggle.
That’s why I founded HER Health Fibroids Trust.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to Help, Empower, and Restore (HER) the lives of women affected by fibroids. Through awareness, support, and advocacy, we’re building a community where women are heard, informed, and no longer face this journey on their own.
