Mere Bowls Club can trace its beginnings back to a single rink in the garden of old Mr Burden a keen local bowler back in the 1930’s, however the present Club was formed in 1964. The current pavilion and green on the school grounds was opened in 2006

Membership is open to residents of Mere and the surrounding areas, fees are currently £80.00 per year for existing members or £55.00 for the first year for new members, pro-rata rates are also available for members who join later in the season. New or prospective members need not join the Club immediately as we offer three free roll-up sessions (see below) so that you can ‘try before you buy’.

The Club season runs from April to mid September each year. Roll-up or practice sessions are held each Tuesday or Thursday evening starting at 5.30pm and on Saturday afternoons at 3pm. Tuesday evening is designated ‘Club’ night; on Club nights members do not have to participate in roll-ups but may do as they wish, sit and have a chat over a cup of tea or a drink or practice a specific part of Bowling on a spare rink in their own time and at their own pace. Coaching for new or existing players is also available at this time, if one of the Club coaches is free.
