We exist to provide guidance, practical care and financial support to those in need within the farming community

The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) is a national charity dedicated to supporting farming people across England and Wales. Dealing with life’s challenges can be tough, and RABI is here to help identify and deliver practical solutions that give the farming community the tools they need to build resilience and get through difficult times.

Founded in 1860, RABI offers:

  • Financial support – one-off grants and regular payments to ease short-term hardship or longer-term pressures.

  • Wellbeing services – a free, confidential 24/7 helpline and counselling for individuals and families facing stress, anxiety, or isolation.

  • Community outreach – regional teams who visit farms, understand local challenges, and connect people with the right advice, training, and peer networks.

  • Skills and resilience programmes – workshops and online resources covering succession planning, business management, mindset, and health to help farming families adapt and thrive.

  • Emergency response – rapid assistance after extreme weather, disease outbreaks, or personal crises.

By combining financial assistance, emotional support, and practical guidance, RABI works alongside farmers to strengthen businesses, safeguard wellbeing, and ensure that no one in agriculture has to face adversity alone.
