Our volunteers have an important part to play in the overall care provided and contribute by giving additional support in a wide variety of areas. Volunteering at Salisbury District Hospital can be a rewarding and enjoyable experience and this commitment and dedication is recognised and appreciated by the Trust Board.
We have volunteers of all ages who provide invaluable help across a whole range of hospital services, whether this is individual support for our staff, patients and visitors on wards and in departments or through a number of voluntary organisations that work closely with our teams or raise additional funds to support the care we provide here at Salisbury District Hospital. We currently have around 700 volunteers who give around 1,900 hours a week of their free time.
Volunteers have a representative on the Council of Governors, the Volunteer Governor. This is unusual for NHS Trusts and shows how important volunteers are to the Trust. Volunteers are also encouraged to become members of the Trust.
All volunteers at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust are covered by insurance and agree to the Trust’s rules on patient confidentiality. They abide by the Trust's Values and Behaviours.
We are sorry but we are not currently recruiting new volunteers.
We are currently completing a review of our application process and will be actively looking for new volunteers September 2019, please revisit our webpage in September.
