Society Without Abuse (SWA) harnesses the power of education, intervention and prevention to bring an end to the scourge of domestic abuse in our society.
Originally founded in 1974 as Swindon Women’s Aid, SWA uses an integrated, whole-family approach to tackling domestic abuse that has been crafted through 50 years of working with families, survivors and perpetrators in Swindon.
Our specialist Children and Young People’s team supports the specific needs of children and works collaboratively with educators to build knowledge of healthy relationships at an age-appropriate level.
Our business advisory and training programmes work with the wider community to provide a network of people who can signpost victims to where they can receive support, and ensure that employers are meeting the needs of their employees.
Increased emphasis is being placed on prevention and our Open2Change team has been established to advise and support those who have concerns about their behaviour and its impact on their relationships.
