Heart of the Community prides itself in listening to the community to enable us to engage with them in a meaningful way.
In doing so, Heart of the Community realised very quickly that there was a real issue with social isolation and that company was just as important as food.
Our primary aim is to be a non-anxious presence when engaging with the community, offering support in all aspects of life, and providing a drop-in centre for all ages, backgrounds, or abilities.
We are looking to expand our team of volunteers to offer our guests the attention they seek to combat loneliness.
Heart of the Community is open from 11am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 11am to 8pm on Friday, and on average we cater for 75 guests each week.
If you are able to offer some time to help with cooking, befriending or administrative tasks we would love to hear from you.
