On the 8th May, from 12 – 4pm, Salisbury City Council is aiming to coordinate an event for the whole city, a festival of giving and volunteering.
At the centre of the event will be a food drive for the network of food organisations that form the ‘Salisbury Foodie Network’.
Around this important piece of social action Salisbury City Council invite voluntary organisations and charities who are currently in need of local volunteers to showcase what they do.
Do you ...
- Need volunteers local to Salisbury?
- Have the capacity to man a table or a stand from 12 - 3pm showcasing your work and volunteering opportunities (arrive at 11 to set up)?
Ideally we would like participating organisations to have an activity of some kind on their stand. Guess how many carers there are in Salisbury? Plant a seed for the community garden? Or something small to engage people in what you do?
We hope that residents across Salisbury will get behind this Big Help Out event and that there will be many people, keen to help, with us in the Market Square that day. Can you help make it special and have longer term impact on volunteering in Salisbury.
If you would like to bring a stand or discuss this opportunity with our Communities Manager please contact us on 01722 417100 or email [email protected] with the subject line – Celebrate Volunteering.
