Wiltshire Sight generates vital income through the sale of donated items, including online sales via platforms such as eBay and Vinted. We are looking for a volunteer to help maximise this income by preparing, listing, selling and dispatching items online. The role is really flexible and can be tailored to suit your time, skills and interests. Even if you are only happy packing and posting sold items, we'd love to hear from you!
What will you be doing? Depending on your skills, interests and availability, tasks may include:
- Photographing donated items for online sale
- Writing accurate and appealing item descriptions
- Listing items on online selling platforms such as eBay or Vinted
- Researching items to help determine appropriate pricing
- Packing and posting sold items
- Ensuring items are handled carefully and stored appropriately
- Promoting public understanding of the work of Wiltshire Sight through our online presence
What skills and experience are needed?
- A reliable and conscientious attitude
- Basic IT skills and confidence using computers or smartphones
- Attention to detail
- Good written communication skills
- Willingness to learn (training will be provided)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A good understanding of confidentiality
- Flexible and adaptable approach
- Experience of online selling platforms or photography is helpful but not essential.

When will you be needed?
This role is flexible and can be arranged to suit both the volunteer and the needs of the organisation. Activities will generally take place during normal office hours.
How often will you be needed?
This can be really flexible to work around your availability. It could be a morning a week, once a fortnight, or once a month.
