A Well-City Salisbury creative course for well-being from Wessex Archaeology and artist Emma Kerr.

Join Wessex Archaeology and artist Emma Kerr in this fun and explorative art course to make creative responses to the spaces and things that surround us. We will take time to notice past and present objects and environments, exploring a variety of archaeological finds and artistic processes.

As we look and make art together, we can start to build up collections of real and imagined things and present our findings to one another. The course will combine creative walks to explore heritage, nature and outdoor landscapes, as well as looking indoors at archaeological artefacts, everyday objects and even found treasures over a cup of tea!

Activities will take place indoors and outdoors. This course includes walking outside over moderately uneven terrain in colder weather. Walks will last approximately 1 hour and be of a gentle pace. We advise anyone taking part to bring suitable footwear and waterproofs (please do get in touch if you do not have access to suitable clothing, we may be able to provide wellies, raincoats and waterproof trousers).

An (optional but encouraged!) welcome session will take place on 23 November, 10:30-11:30am and will be an opportunity to meet the project team and other participants over a slice of cake and cup of tea!

An (optional but encouraged!) celebration session will take place on 1 Feb, 10:30-11:30am and will be an opportunity to meet up with fellow participants, artist, project team and celebrate all your creative achievements.

You don’t need to have any previous experience or even think of yourself as creative to participate! Well- City Salisbury is about connection – to the arts, to heritage, to our local area, to the landscape and to each other.

All materials are provided and this course is available for adults 20+.

Well City is a Salisbury based partnership project providing creative opportunities to support mental health and well-being through arts and heritage.
