Emotional & practical support to families with children affected by a life threatening illness

Rainbow Trust provides emotional and practical support to families whose son or daughter is affected by a life threatening or terminal illness. This includes parents, carers, the unwell child, brothers, sisters, grandparents and help with extended family members to support each other.

Support for the whole family

​When you hear the terrible news that your child has a life threatening or terminal illness your whole world may feel like it’s falling apart. Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity provides a range of support to parents from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. We support the whole family both emotionally and practically including siblings and grandparents.

Any family can receive support from the moment of their child or young person’s diagnosis, (including antenatal and neonatal periods when diagnosis has been made) and support with young people during transition towards adult services up to the age of 18.

Make a referral

Anyone can refer a family to us (for example, a family member, friend, health, education or social care professional) provided consent from the family has been given for the referral to be made.
