Grow fruit and vegetables for The Pantry
We aim to help those dealing with the Heat or Eat dilemma. We will be growing fruit and vegetables to be given free via The Pantry. We have a good-size plot of ground in the lovely location of Chafyn Grove School, Bourne Avenue SP1 1LR.
Volunteer roles:
Volunteer Gardeners' (approx 30)
We have just started preparing the land for growing fruit and vegetables for The Pantry and we would welcome more hard-working volunteers. Once established, our garden beds will be organic and 'no dig' so the work will become lighter. The project runs on a Sunday monring 10am-1pm, however, volunteer days and times are completely flexible to suit you.
No previous knowledge is required. Learn gardening skills.
Commitee roles:
We are also looking for an Honorary Treasurer to handle the finance and be a co-signator. The role includes:
- General financial oversight.
- Funding, fundraising and sales.
- Financial planning and budgeting.
- Financial reporting.
- Banking, book keeping and record keeping.
An Honorary Secretary, in addtion to managing the volunteers to:
- Ensuring meetings are effectively organised and minuted. – Liaising with the Chair to plan meetings. ...
- Maintaining the Secretary's role at meetings. ...
- Upholding legal requirements. ...
- Communication and correspondence.
We shall also be looking for volunteers to handle fund-raising and the web-page.
