Description

Finding Words is a gentle arts‑based wellbeing group for neurodivergent adults who want a quiet, low‑pressure space to explore who they are. It’s designed for people who prefer environments where they don’t have to mask, perform, or explain themselves.

You don’t need to be “good at art.” You don’t need experience. Everything is simple, sensory‑aware, and done at your own pace.

This group is for anyone who is:

  • diagnosed
  • self‑identified
  • questioning
  • waiting for assessment
  • or simply wanting a space where their way of being is understood

This is not a therapy group, but it is a therapeutic, supportive space run by trained professionals.

What the space is like

  • Calm, gentle, and low‑demand
  • No pressure to talk, share, or make eye contact
  • You will have choice on what you do and how long you spend on it
  • You can take breaks, stim, move around, or be quiet
  • Everyone’s autonomy and sensory needs are respected

What we do in the sessions

Across three sessions, you can try different creative activities that help you express yourself without needing the “right” words:

  • Clay: grounding, tactile, something for your hands to do while you settle in
  • Intuitive painting / mark‑making: simple colour, movement, and texture with no plan needed
  • Collage & found words: choose images or words that stand out to you and build meaning slowly
  • Erasure poetry: cross out what doesn’t fit and keep what does
  • Simple printing: repeat shapes or words that feel important to you

You always choose:

  • what materials you use from what's on offer
  • how much you talk
  • whether you share anything
  • how you make meaning from what you create
  • There is no “right way” to do anything.

Who runs it

The group is co‑facilitated by:

Together, Cesca and Emily bring a compassionate, grounded, neurodiversity‑affirming partnership —blending creative therapeutic practice with strengths‑based coaching to help adults find language, meaning, and confidence through metaphor, reflection, and creative exploration.

They work together to create a grounded, respectful space where:

  • your autonomy comes first
  • your own insight leads the way
  • you are never pushed to interpret or share more than you want
  • clean language is used to honour your own words and meaning

Who this group is for

  • identify as neurodivergent in any way?
  • want a calm, low‑pressure creative spaceare curious about using art or words to explore your inner world?
  • don’t want formal therapy but do want connection and reflection?
  • feel comfortable in a small group where everyone is respected?
  • want community with people who “get it”?
