We provide resources, training, and support so these groups can focus on their frontline activities, while actively collaborating on a wide range of partnerships and projects. We also act as a collective voice for the sector, advocating for their needs and impact.

JOB TITLE: Fundraising Development Advisor

REPORTS TO: CEO

LOCATION: Hybrid, with ideally 2 to 3 days per week in our office in Salisbury.

HOURS: The role is being advertised at 37 hours per week. However, we are open to discussing flexible working arrangements. Hours worked Monday to Friday but with flexibility for some evening and weekend work.

SALARY: £28,195 per annum

Job purpose

We’re looking for someone who can provide hands-on fundraising support to voluntary and community groups throughout Wiltshire. In this dynamic role, you’ll work closely with a wide range of inspiring organisations, helping them operate more effectively and sustainably by offering tailored advice, identifying funding opportunities, and connecting them with the right resources and partnerships.

You’ll also play a key role internally, working alongside our CEO to drive forward Wessex Community Action’s own fundraising goals, helping us grow our impact and build strong, collaborative relationships across the sector.

Key responsibilities

To provide advice, guidance and support to new and established charities, community groups and social enterprises on areas including:

·         Fundraising

·         Income diversification

·         Grant applications

·         Training

To develop tools and resources to support others, including the production of regular, fundraising focused communications.

To lead on the development and delivery of a regional Fundraisers Network.

To collaborate with the CEO in developing and implementing strategic fundraising plans and initiatives that advance the mission of Wessex Community Action.

To ensure the consistent inputting and management of records using CRM software.

To have oversight of national bodies of support for the sector to inform practice.

To build an understanding of fundraising development activity within Wiltshire.

To work with other community asset-based organisations to identify opportunities for best practice and collaborative working around building resilient, sustainable and thriving communities and services.

 

Contribute to the overall work of Wessex Community Action

To contribute to WCA in the pursuit of its mission, vision and values through staff meetings and collaborative work with colleagues.

To make regular reports through line management to the WCA Board of Trustees and other interested parties.

To work to all WCA policies and procedures and uphold its values and principles.

To actively involve, work with and undertake supervision of any apprentices/volunteers related to this role.

To promote the work of WCA at events.

To undertake any other duties relating to the post.
