It is for the public benefit, the relief and assistance of people that have suffered domestic violence in Wiltshire. For the prevention or relief of poverty to prevent the victim from returning to the violent relationship (the perpetrator).

In the first instance, HVDV will provide emergency clothing, toys, books, baby equipment and personal hygiene items to the families, individuals who have fled domestic abuse. To promote waste reduction, re-use reclamation recycling, use of recycled products and the use of surplus the outcome of us being able to help is to prevent human suffering as well as the promotion of health by giving the families, individuals more than the one set of clothes, when they may have fled the abusive home. This takes a lot of pressure from the victim, which helps to cut the risk of them returning to the perpetrator and the abusive home. It also helps to increase the mental state by relieving the stress on the family, individual and children/young people.

To give them an insight as to what is available in the area. HVDV also signposting to children’s centres and signposting for emotional support and food banks.
