Join us wearing purple in Salisbury Market Square for the challenge of making a circle around the square.
This International Women’s Day, the theme is ‘Embrace Equity’. Equity means recognising that each person has different circumstances or roadblocks and making allowances for these to reach an equal outcome.
Equity is a real standout word at FearLess as it summarises the work we do, the women we support and the different ways that our staff bring safeguarding solutions and coping mechanisms to adults and children who have experienced or witness domestic abuse. From our educational sessions, helping people recognise what domestic abuse is for their future relationships, to redesigning activities to help children come to terms with their emotions and help them deal with what has happened, we cater our support to the individual’s needs.
It is shocking to think that someone will experience at least 35 assaults or 2.6 years of domestic abuse before they look for help. Unfortunately, when someone does decide to contact us, the damage has already been done. The amount of physical abuse, mental and emotional damage and level of control and isolation someone has experienced has already impacted aspects of day-to-day life that a lot of us take for granted.
By standing with us, you can help spread the word about our service and complete the circle!
