Do you want to make a difference to the life of a person with a learning disability? Are you kind, patient, and fun? Would you enjoy attending football matches at Swindon Town and enabling another person to do the same? Then read on!
This is a great volunteering opportunity to provide a social connection to a friendly autistic man who loves to go to Swindon Town matches, but has been unable to do so for the past couple of years.
In this role you would be taking this football mad gentleman from his home in Chippenham to the County Ground in Swindon to see home matches, making sure to grab a burger and a pint while you are there! He also doesn't mind how he gets there, be it bus, train, or car.
It would not be necessary to attend every match, but being able to go to at least most daytime fixtures would be ideal. It is also very important that you would be reliable and punctual, as the beneficiary is very routine orientated. Experience with learning disability and/or autism would be greatly beneficial, but not a necessity as long as you are patient, kind, friendly, and willing to learn.
Your travel to and from the match would be paid for, and you would gain free admission to the match as you will be supporting a person with a disability to attend. We can also pay up to £10 expenses for you to get to and from your home to the beneficiaries home.
