“Life is what you celebrate. All of it. Even its end.”

  • Joanne Harris

At Dorothy House, we live our mission to ensure that everyone has access to outstanding palliative and end of life care, we promote our vision for a society where death is a part of life and we do this by demonstrating respect, dignity and compassion for all.

To support this vision we are looking to invite a Clinical Commissioning Specialist to join our board of Trustees wherein they will utilise their breadth of clinical and commissioning experience along with their demonstrable track record of engagement with the NHS, private health care, local authorities and charity organisation to challenge the thinking on the role of commissioning including the clinical requirements in Dorothy House’s development and effectiveness, and help this vision evolve through our service review and strategy.

The Clinical Commissioning Specialist will identify opportunities to engage with the integrated care system to ensure all those who require palliative and end of life care receive it in line with the strategy and will provide strategic oversight of the implementation of our service review and integration vision and champion and support the delivery of proposals for development to the board.

They will have a deep clinical understanding of palliative and end of life care and that death is part of life, will demonstrate experience of continued learning and development in clinical work and commissioning, and will be highly capable in engaging with the Executive at strategic level whilst understanding the operational complexities of the delivery of care.

For further information on how to join our outstanding board of volunteer trustees and deliver a real difference for your community, please visit our website www.dorothyhouse.org.uk or contact Kate Tompkins, Chair of Trustees for an informal discussion on 07784 066224, or on email -  [email protected]

Closing date for expressions of interest accompanied by a CV is Tuesday 31st August and should be sent to Kim Hale, Executive Assistant to CEO & Board: [email protected]
