Please Note:
It is with great disappointment that Trowbridge Town Council must announce the cancellation of Uniform Services Day, scheduled for Saturday 13th September at Trowbridge Town Park.
The forecast indicates showers with winds expected to exceed 30 mph by midday, with strong gusts continuing throughout the day. At wind speeds of 26 mph, all temporary event structures - including gazeboes and tents - must be taken down, even when securely reinforced. The vast majority of exhibitors, stall holders and attractions attending our event require gazeboes, tents or have structures that cannot withstand such high winds and will therefore be unable to attend.
Many of our exhibitors are active emergency services, and we want to respect the time they dedicate in preparing to participate. In addition, a large number of stalls are run by volunteers, who invest significant effort and resources into attending the event. After careful consideration, and with safety as the top priority, the Council has made the difficult decision to cancel the event in advance, rather than waiting until the morning and potentially causing great inconvenience to everyone involved.
We do not take this decision lightly, and we completely appreciate the disappointment, inconvenience, and frustration this may cause, however, safety must remain our top priority.

Our 2024 event had over 70 exhibition stalls from Armed and Uniform Services, entertainment, attractions and activities, charity and retail stalls, and food and drink stalls, along with a full schedule of performances and displays in our arena and on the stage.
Within our Military and Uniformed Service zones, exhibitions had equipment, vehicles, memorabilia, and demonstrations. Armed Forces exhibitions included the Ministry of Defence, the Royal British Legion, the SSAFA (the Armed Forces charity), the Royal Air Forces Association, the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, and the Trowbridge Army Cadet Force.
Within our Fire & Rescue zone, there was Wiltshire Search and Rescue, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. Wiltshire Police and the HMP Prison and Probation Service will be in our Police and Justice zone, with Wiltshire Air Ambulance, and St John Ambulance in our Medical zone.
Musical performances and displays were held throughout the day in the arena and on the stage.
The Kid’s Zone had face painting and glitter braids alongside fairground and inflatable rides! For the older kids and adventure-seeking adults, we had a climbing wall and an interactive shooting experience. Our roaming tank performance and Paw Patrol characters were out and about too!
This event was be a great family day out and a fantastic opportunity for the Armed and Uniform Services to engage with the community and for the public to show their support.
