Melksham Town Council will be be commemorating the 80th Anniversary of VE Day with a host of events across the day centred around Melksham Market Place starting with the Proclaimation at 9am with the raising on the Union Flag.

Melksham Assembly Hall are hosting a VE Day celebration lunch from 11:30am, followed by a lively Tea Dance at 2 PM with live entertainment from The Terry Hill Big Band and surprise guest singers. Fancy dress is encouraged to set the nostalgic mood.
The church bells will ring out at 6;30pm
In the evening the Wiltshire Police Band will be performing ahead of the lighting of a Beacon and Lamp light of Peace as a Tribute to those who serviced at 9:30pm.
