On 14th August 2024, in Corsham Wiltshire, fifteen physically fit and healthy people are required as volunteers assisting a public service during their training exercise.
The exercise will begin at 11am and be finished by 4pm. It is for a civil disturbance and crowd management. The fifteen people are needed to act as protestors. The purpose is for the protestors to try and prevent access to a site. The public service will be using their training for dealing with the incident. They will be using techniques to diffuse it and move the protestors safely away from the site. Basically you will be part of a 'rent-a-crowd' of protestors.
Funds are available for each volunteer and will be enough to cover car travel expences for a maximum of 18 miles round trip, at 45p per mile. As car sharing is encouraged, this may make it possible for some volunteers to come from further afield.
You will be required to share some information about yourself so there can be a general vetting before you may volunteer. A full risk assessment will be provided.
