What will I be doing?
- Receive free training in the use of Sky Quality Measure (SQM) reading equipment
- Take Sky Quality Measure (SQM) readings in Cranborne Chase
- Accurately record and interpret results & Report data to the Project Team
- Join in on training and optional star gazing sessions
What skills will I develop for my CV?
- Scientific Skills - Learning to use scientific equipment to record information
- Conservation Skills - Learning about light pollution and the impact it has on the natural world
- Learning from Professionals - Working with Astronomers and team members from Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
What do I need?
- An Interest in conservation
- An interest in stargazing or space
- A willingness to learn new skills and apply them in your spare time

- This is a task you can undertake in your own time, and we will provide all the necessary training and guidance.
- Cranborne Chase AONB is a designated International Dark Skies Reserve
- The 'Starry, Starry Nights' Project works with businesses and organisations to reduce night time light pollution.
