What is a Social Media Advocate?

Someone who engages with our social media pages, helping us to broaden our reach. They help get our prevention messages out to the groups of people we miss and raise awareness about the work we do

As a Social Media Advocate for BUGS, you’ll play a vital role in helping us to support burns patients at Salisbury District Hospital.  You will also help us with our aim to raise awareness of burns prevention among our community.

The main aim of BUGS is to:

“support and encourage people as they move out into the community who are under the care of the Odstock Centre for Burns, Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery, by providing the opportunity for friendship, information, as well as practical and professional help and advice.”

We use social media as a way to provide information to former patients, publicise our activities and to support our fundraisers.  As a small fund we only use, what is termed as “organic” marketing, known as word of mouth in every day terms.  We do not pay for adverts, so we rely on our supporters to help spread the word.

With your help, we can broaden our reach and get our prevention messages out to the groups of people we miss.  We can also raise awareness about the work we do and in turn this can gather support, increasing volunteers and fundraising.

We are looking for a few volunteers to fulfil this role.

Although not necessary, we would be particularly interested in those who have a broad community of contacts or involvement across our catchment area.

If this is something that is of interest to you, message us for an information pack.

Please click the 'Pledge' button to register your interest and we will contact you.

When:

This is a flexible role, working from home that requires engagement with social media weekly.
