Volunteer Centres are local organisations that provide support and expertise within the local community, to potential volunteers, existing volunteers, and organisations that involve volunteers. Services and support typically provided includes;
- Support with recruiting volunteers – developing role description, advertising
- Volunteer matching and brokerage
- Supporting best practice in volunteer management – policies and procedures
- DBS checks
- Volunteer Fairs – to promote volunteering / voluntary opportunities and recruit volunteers
- Promote volunteering / the benefits of volunteers and value of volunteering
- Training and support to volunteers (first aid, health, and safety, etc) and to volunteer managers
Volunteers and Volunteer Managers are invited to this workshop discussion to consider and share their views on the need for and function of a Volunteer Centre in Wiltshire and influence the future of volunteering in Wiltshire.
