At Dorothy House, we provide exceptional personalised care to people in our community who are approaching death. That means we’ve got you: we’re here for our patients and their loved ones, as much or as little as they need us.
We believe every life is incredibly precious, and no-one should face death alone
Our standard of care reaches deep into our community. Through ten locally-focused Dorothy House care teams, we help people prepare for the end of their lives and equip more people to provide the care each of us deserves.
Specialist palliative care
As experts in providing specialist palliative care, our staff include doctors, nurses, therapists, carers and counsellors and will see patients at home, in a clinic setting or in a care home. They work closely with GPs, community nursing teams, hospital staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure a high standard of care and support. We are regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission.
Referrals
Our services require a referral which can be made easily by any health and socialcare professional, by a person with a life-limiting illness (self-referral) or by a friend/family member of a person with a life-limiting illness. Please see Referrals for more information.
We also provide Community Groups open to anyone in our community who may be affected by a life-limiting illness or bereavement. No referral is required to attend these regularly held sessions.
