About Families Out Loud (FOL)
Families Out Loud is a small and growing charity, based in Wiltshire, which is run by a group of people who care about family addiction. We’re here to support those affected by another person's addiction, by enabling them to speak out without judgement. If you have lived-experience of, or an interest in our cause, we’d love to hear from you!
About the role
As a FOL committee member, you will share our passion of supporting families affected by addiction. You will be committed to the Purpose, Vision and Values of FOL, gain a good understanding of the organisation and be prepared to share your views. You will attend monthly online committee meetings and get involved with activities such as leaflet distribution, visiting organisations in your area, organising local craft stalls and other events around the county, helping with admin tasks and anything else that interests you!
This is a voluntary position, mainly working from home. You will be required to attend monthly committee meetings which are currently held virtually. Occasionally you may be required to attend in-person meetings in different locations across Wiltshire.
What we are looking for
For this position, we’re looking for someone living in Wiltshire who can help us facilitate growth in their own locality. Ideally, you’ll have a deep understanding of your community and its unique needs, bringing strong connections within the area. You’ll represent the charity in local networks and form lasting relationships that will increase our profile.
You’ll have good communication skills, and will be able to work as part of a team to make collective decisions. You will be well organised, with a problem-solving approach.
