NEXT GEN GIG

Saturday, 15th February 2025

Melksham Town Council is proud to launch the Melksham Youth Advisory Board, an exciting new initiative to amplify the voices of young people in the community. This board will provide a platform for young residents aged 14 to 18, and up to 25 years old for those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), to share their opinions, contribute ideas, and participate in shaping the future of Melksham.

What’s Happening at the Event?

The launch event will be held on Saturday, 15th February 2025, and features an program designed to bring together the youth of Melksham. Here’s what to expect:

  • Live Music: Enjoy performances by two incredible local bands, featuring The Sunnies
  • ?️ Vote on Issues: Participate in voting on a key issue that can be implemented immediately – a real chance to see your impact.
  • Suggestion Box: Share your ideas and suggestions for the Youth Advisory Board or other community initiatives.

This is an amazing opportunity to connect with others, enjoy great music, and help shape the future of Melksham.

What is the Youth Advisory Board?

The Youth Advisory Board is being launched to ensure that young people in Melksham have a say in decisions that affect them. While board members won’t have voting rights on council decisions, they will provide invaluable input and advice, participate in various committees, and influence projects that impact the community.

Joining the board will involve an application process, with continued membership based on active participation. This ensures a committed group of young people representing diverse perspectives in Melksham.
