About

Supporting vulnerable people

Safer and Supportive Salisbury (SaSS) is a charity, registered with the Charity Commission in 2023. (Charity reg no 1205459) We comprise volunteers and representatives of local community groups and charities. We are also supported by representatives of the County, City and other public service providers.  The group’s aim is to make the city of Salisbury a safe, supportive and inclusive community for everyone who lives or works in the city and for all visitors to Salisbury and surrounding areas.

Totally independent and receiving no statutory funding, all the funds SaSS uses to carry out projects are raised from donations, grant applications or sponsorship. The aim is to create and undertake pieces of action to promote health and wellbeing and to influence and shape outcomes that support the local area and those who live, work or visit the city.

SaSS shares, networks, signposts and communicates good practice and research. It promotes events and activities in its own right, as well as those sponsored, supported or organised by member community groups and organisations. Membership of SaSS is open to all local groups who support our aims, without charge.
