The Rhythm Practice

Our team of music psychotherapists work with individuals and small groups from our studio at the Pound Arts Centre in Corsham and in the community across Wiltshire.

We help our clients explore and understand some of the issues affecting their lives through talking and the creative use of music with the aim of inspiring a positive shift in mental and emotional health.

The Space

The Rhythm Practice is based in a bright and airy, private, upstairs room at The Pound Arts Centre in Corsham. The room is equipped specifically for music therapy and contains a wide array of acoustic and electric instruments from around the world. It also has recording facilities allowing clients to write songs and record music when required. A comfortable seating area allows small groups of up to four people to work together. Whilst the top room is not wheelchair accessible, we can utilize other areas at The Pound if access is an issue.

Outreach Projects

We often work with partner organisations to deliver programmes of music therapy, song-writing and music workshops, naturally delivered with a very therapeutic approach. Recently we have been working in HMP Bristol with the Prison Choir Project, and running song-writing projects in partnership with Silverwood School and Wiltshire Rural Music. We provide music therapy for groups and individuals with organisations based across Wiltshire, Somerset and Gloucestershire including Swindon, Bristol and Bath. We also provide placement opportunities for trainee Music Therapy students studying at University West of England.
