The Album Listening Event was started in August 2024 to celebrate the opening of The Waverley bar in Chippenham. It helps raise funds for, and awareness of, the work of Dorothy House Hospice.
Each month we listen to albums using quality hi-fi equipment donated to the Dorothy House Hospice charity shop on Station Hill in Chippenham.
We listen to and discuss a well-known 'classic' album (normally played from a vinyl LP record) alongside another less familiar album. Often the second album is the work of a local artist or band who attend the event to talk about their music and occasionally to play some tracks live for us on the night too.
The events are normally held on the third Wednesday of each month, with the musci starting promptly at 8pm. Anyone can attend and there is no entrance fee charged, but voluntary donations to the work of the Hospice are welcomed.
