Supporting unpaid Carers in Wiltshire to achieve a healthy balance between their caring responsibilities and their own health & well-being
We’re proud to be the lead service for unpaid adult Carers in Wiltshire, working alongside Youth Action Wiltshire and Forward Carers as the trusted commissioned organisations chosen by the ICB and Wiltshire Council. Together we provide tailored support to all unpaid Carers in the county, creating Carer Friendly communities across Wiltshire.
When you are caring for someone else, it can be easy to overlook your own needs. Prioritising your health and setting aside time for yourself can enhance your resilience and ability to manage your care-giving role. This isn't always easy, but it is important.
How we help unpaid Carers
We work together in partnership with Youth Action Wiltshire and Forward Carers, to support people who are providing unpaid care to another person, offering a range of support services, such as:
- Information, Advice and Guidance
- Referrals for support
- Activities
- Carer breaks
- Counselling
- Carer ID cards (Via Forward Carers)
- Coaching, training and support (including peer-support)
We work closely with Wiltshire Council to offer support, and Carer Assessments, to enable unpaid Carers to take regular breaks from their caring responsibilities.
How to get support
Our dedicated team are on hand to arrange for the right person to contact you for support. You can fill in a Self-Referral by clicking this link: Carer Self Referral
To help speed up the process, you can choose to fill in an online Carer Self-Assessment. The Self-Assessment will help our team have a better understanding of your situation and allow us to decide if you need priority support. The other benefit of completing a Self-Assessment is that it can be done at any time that fits with your busy schedule. Carer Self-Assessment
