Chippenham Town Council maintains an extensive network of CCTV cameras across the town. Volunteers working alongside the CCTV Supervisor regularly monitor live stream images with the aim of preventing, deterring and detecting crime and anti-social behaviour.

In addition, they actively monitor public spaces to identify vulnerable persons who may be in need of assistance helping to make Chippenham a safer place to visit, work, shop and live. Hundreds of hours of recorded CCTV images support Police investigations and are instrumental in securing convictions in court.
