Help with transport and befriending


Downton Link is run buy local volunteers who offer help with transport and act as good neighbours for people in need, regardless of age or circumstances.

We serve residents living in Downton, Charlton All Saints, Woodfalls, Redlynch, Morgans Vale, Lover, Hale, Woodgreen and Breamore.

Transport is available for -

  • Hospital,surgery,dental and optician appointments,shopping,hairdressers.
  • Visiting friends or relatives in hospital.
  • Collecting prescriptions,library books.
  • Social and House visits and taking clients to day centres.

We also provide a befriending service.

There is no charge for the service but the Link depends on donations from its users to help run the service .Our volunteers recieve a mileage allowance and we organise  training / information / social events twice a year.

We are always in need of volunteers especially drivers .
