I am a Salisbury resident with experience of running projects in the health and social care sector, in Russia and neighbouring countries. Most recently I have worked in Moldova with children with special needs and with adults seeking to lead more independent lives. During 2020 and the period of lockdown, I volunteered in the local community and worked with Safer and Supportive Salisbury to develop a small digital inclusion project. We have helped a number of households to get connected and learn how to use ithe internet, so they can communicate with their families and friends, order prescriptions and have online medical consultations, follow church services and enjoy many other activities. We would be delighted to hear from anyone who would like to be involved in this project, either as a learner or as a volunteer.
We have just received a second grant, to continue our Get Connected project, so we have capacity to take on new learners as well as supporting the existing group of learners. Once lockdown is over, we look forward to opening our Coffee and Computer sessions at a venue near you!
