The Amber Foundation is a UK-based charity dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable young people aged 18–30 who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or facing complex challenges such as mental ill-health, substance misuse, and long-term unemployment. Through its unique, residential, and intensive support programme, Amber helps young people rebuild their confidence, gain life skills, and move towards education, employment, or independent living.
Founded in 1995, Amber operates from four centres located in Surrey, Kent, Wiltshire, and Devon, providing safe and structured environments where young people can stabilise their lives, set goals, and access tailored personal development support.
The charity’s approach combines holistic wellbeing care, practical skills training, and individual mentoring, empowering residents to overcome barriers and create lasting positive change. Amber works in close partnership with local employers, education providers, and fellow charities, and has been recognised for its effective outcomes—helping more than 70% of residents transition to sustainable employment, education, or housing.
Amber is more than just a place to stay—it’s a place to start again.
