We are looking for an individual to advise the board on financial matters. You will have an interest in working within the youth sector and promoting equality. You may already have accountancy qualifications and will be working in the finance sector.
Mighty Girls is a Community Interest Company based in Wiltshire. We are helping girls and young women become more resilient in the face of inequalities, and encouraging them to challenge the barriers they face, as early as possible in their lives. We work with girls as young as 8 years old, and offer events and activities for young women up to 18 years of age.
Responsibilities
As Finance Advisor you will:
- Bring independent judgement on issues of strategy.

Monitor the performance of the directors.

Ensure the company accounts properly for its actions and financial performance and that the necessary internal control systems are put in place and regularly monitored (together with the rest of the board).

Communication - help connect the board and the company with a network of potentially useful people and organisations.
Requirements

Specialist knowledge/experience in Finance is essential.

Experience in fundraising, or advising a charity/community group is desirable.

Commit to attending 4 board meetings per year if possible, and if not possible to attend, then to contribute on issues via phone or email.

Lead the annual Financial audit.
