Are you passionate about making a difference?

Do you love being an active member of your community and passionate about ensuring your community is a safe place to live where people thrive?

Then this opportunity could be for you.

FearFree is a Domestic Abuse charity based in the Southwest.  We have staff linked to every GP surgery in Devon- as well as delivering Employment, Education and Volunteering one to one support across the geography.

As an organisation we support individuals experiencing: Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence.  We work with children as young as 5 who are or were living in homes where Domestic Abuse is or has been present.  We deliver programmes to people who cause harm to become accountable for their behaviours, understand why they may behave this way, and strategies to behave differently moving forward.  We work with all genders- across all contracts

We are looking for enthusiastic Volunteer Fundraisers to help raise vital funds by engaging with their local community and organising small-scale fundraising activities.  This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people, want to work to their own schedule, has good organisational skills and wants to make a positive difference to their community.

Volunteer fundraisers will plan, organise and manage community fundraising events ranging from quiz nights and coffee mornings, to cake sales, jumble sales and other creative activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Engaging with the local community to build support for our cause.
  • Plan, organise and deliver small fundraising activities and events.
  • Promote events locally (e.g word of mouth, social media posts)
  • Manage basic event logistics such as venues, materials and volunteers.
  • Handle fundraising monies responsibly and in line with guidance.
  • Work with our team to share ideas, feedback and fundraising results.

Examples of activities

  • Organising a quiz night at a local pub or community venue.
  • Running a cake or plant sale, coffee morning or tabletop sale.
  • Coordinating a jumble sale or charity stall at local events.
  • Leading a community challenge or themed fundraising day

Skills and Experience

  • Friendly, approachable and confident communicating with others.
  • Well organised, with the ability to plan and manage small activities.
  • Enthusiastic, reliable and self-motivated.
  • IT skills helpful- but certainly not essential.
  • No previous fundraising experience required- just a desire to make a difference.

What will you get in return?

You will have access to an Induction programme that suits you.   If you are interested- you will be able to access our suite of Induction training- at the same level and with the same delivery as staff who are employed by FearFree.   We have an active volunteer community- and we would love you to be part of that.   You will get support from our designated Partnership Manager.  We will support you to develop community speaking and presentation skills if desired, along with developing a strong knowledge of domestic abuse and sexual violence, and engaging with community groups.  We will support reference requests after 3 months of active volunteering.

So- if this is you- then please contact us.
