GROVE’s Individual Mentoring provides a safe, affirming space for Autistic children and young people to feel heard, understood and supported.
Mentoring is child-led and tailored, allowing young people to set their own goals or simply spend time being themselves in a supportive environment. Our Autistic Mentors bring both lived experience and specialist knowledge of autism theory and practice, enabling genuine understanding and connection.
Sessions may include conversation, sensory play, gaming, creative activities or exploring special interests. We adapt our activities to suit the young person rather than mentoring through one medium.
Through shared experience and reflective practice, mentoring supports the development of self-understanding, self-compassion and positive Autistic identity. Mentors draw on lived experience to provide language and insight that help young people make sense of their experiences and identity.
