We’re also searching for new permanent members of the CFVSF exec! Could you be the right candidate?
Current exec member Dawn Whiting has given her account of what being a member of the exec entails:
I have been a member of the CFVSF Executive for just over 6 years. When I first joined the Exec I was new to the voluntary sector and wasn’t sure if I could add anything, but it was something I was keen to support if I could. Being on the Exec is a great way to meet new people, help shape the Forum meetings for our members, and have a voice. I have developed some great professional relationships and friendships, have developed my knowledge and understanding of the sector and the forum members and through this have been able to make suggestions, raise ideas and challenge decisions.
Being on the Executive doesn’t cause me masses of work or stress we meet two weeks before the forum meetings to plan the agenda and set themes.
At times I have had to commit time to the Exec for example when we have advertised for new chairs, when the Wiltshire Council tender has been up for renewal etc, but this time is very manageable. There are six of us currently on the Exec, but we would love to have more…
You could join us; develop yourself, help develop the Exec and the forum and offer some new, relevant ideas and themes.
If you’re interested in joining, please do contact Angela for an informal chat

About CFVSF
The Wiltshire Children and Families Voluntary Sector Forum (CFVSF) works across Wiltshire to bring together voluntary organisations offering services for children and families. The forum is funded by Wiltshire Council and works closely with the local authority to ensure there is a strong relationship and good partnership working between the public sector and Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector.
Membership of CFVSF is free and open to all VCSE organisations working with children, families and young people in Wiltshire.
Bi-monthly forum meetings take place, where agencies are able to share information and stay up to date on any new policies and procedures relating to working with children, young people and their families in Wiltshire. The forum is also a platform for organisations to share their knowledge and experience, when services for children and families in Wiltshire are being planned.
The forum plays an active role in promoting the voice and influence of voluntary sector organisations. Members attend groups held by the Families and Children Transformation (FACT) project and Wiltshire Safeguarding Children Board.
