Volunteer needed to help us transform our garden area for our youth clubs to learn about gardening.
In Chippenham we offer youth clubs for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. At our club venue, we have a small garden area which is in much need of maintenance and with the right care and attention, it could become a great outdoor space for children and young people to make use of. We are hopeful that we could transform this garden area into a flower bed and/or a vegetable patch for the children and young people who attend our youth clubs to learn about gardening.
The volunteering hours are flexible and the gardening can be done between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. As the area is relatively small, the volunteering could be for a few hours per week, rather than full days being needed. Once the garden has been restored and is suitable for growing plants/vegetables, it would be useful for the volunteer to support us on Saturdays twice per month to support the young people we support with learning about gardening.
We are looking for one gardening volunteer, so the successful applicant would need to be comfortable volunteering independently.
We are looking for enthusiastic people to join our team, with a love of the outdoors and an interest in supporting children and families to engage with outdoor play and growing activities. For further information and to apply, click here.
