Over 2.4 million adults in England alone can't read or struggle to. If you're based in the North & West Wiltshire area and have some time to volunteer, you could make a real difference to the lives of local adults who want to learn to read by joining the team of volunteers who run our Read Easy North & West Wiltshire group. You would be part of a group of like-minded volunteers focused on offering adults in your area the life-changing opportunity to learn to read.
Read Easy North & West Wiltshire want to help more adults in the area learn to read, and to achieve this we need the support of a Fundraiser, because without the small amount of money we need each year we cannot ensure that those learning to read receive the support and resources they need to succeed.
The role of Fundraiser requires the following skills:
- an ability to quickly understand the needs and limitations of our volunteer-led activity and how it might 'fit' with funder aims and priorities
- an understanding of (or ability to quickly find out about ) different granting and funding opportunities across our major towns in North and West Wiltshire)
- some day time hours available during the week and throughout the year (our Management Team meetings are bi-monthly and we encourage attendance at one Coach meeting each year)
- ability and willingness to work independently and as part of a friendly team of volunteers with a shared charitable purpose
- reasonable confidence in IT and in accessing and using online information and completing online grant applications
