Role Description: Volunteer Telephone Check in & Chat/Befriending Coordinator
Warminster action Group are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic person to co-ordinate and help implement our chat in and chat service.
Check in and Chat was introduced as one of the services we offer a few months ago and is proving incredibly successful. We are looking for someone to help expand and continue our Check in and Chat and befriending service through regular, friendly telephone conversations with volunteers. The success of this service means that we now have an exciting opportunity for a new Volunteer Telephone Check in and Chat/Befriending Coordinator to support in the development and delivery of this programme. This commitment will take around 7 hours per week, hours can be split up. We urge you to really reflect on whether you can commit fully before applying for the role.
This role includes:
- Collating the requests that come in for the service
- Allocating callers to appropriate volunteers
- Be the point of contact for new check in and chat / befriending members.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure all recorders are kept up to date and accurate.
- To organise and coordinate volunteers.
- To handle queries from volunteers and members.
- Other tasks as may be from time to time requested by colleagues.
- Develop referral pathways
Person Specification:
Excellent customer care skills with a positive approach. Be sensitive to the task in hand and have the ability to show tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information and to apply data protection principles in working practice. Good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and having a working knowledge of SLACK and Trello would be advantageous.
