Downton Downtime is a welcoming, weekly gathering in the heart of Downton for people living with dementia, their carers, older adults and anyone who’d love a friendly morning of connection, creativity and gentle activity. We meet during term time, every Tuesday from 10:15am to 12pm at Downton Baptist Church, South Lane, Downton.
You’ll step into a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where everyone is valued, heard and included. It’s a place to meet new people, share stories and build meaningful friendships. Through music, gentle movement or creative activities, the group aims to lift spirits, spark memories and support wellbeing in a gentle, natural way.
Carers are warmly welcomed too — to join in, take a breather and connect with others who truly understand.
Doors open at 10am, with a friendly welcome — and of course, tea, coffee and cake. We start with time to chat, reconnect and settle in before moving on to a mix of activities. Each week is a little different, from Move & Make Music with Sounds Better CIC to crafts, games, puzzles or gentle movement.
There’s no pressure to join in — listening, watching or simply enjoying the company is just as welcome. Our volunteers and facilitators are always nearby with a smile, support or a friendly chat. We finish around 12pm, leaving everyone feeling a little lighter, brighter and more connected. We’d love you to join us if you can.
