Do you support clients to access funding for heating and insulation installations, but come across the barrier that measures can’t be installed until certain works are completed?
Many affordable warmth schemes (i.e. ECO, LADS, HUGS etc) do not cover the cost of "enabling works". And this can create barriers for people, particularly those on low incomes, to access the energy measures to improve their homes.
We’re offering “enabling works” funds to to support households that cannot afford “essential work” for their installations, and to support more installations of grant funded energy efficiency measures in Wiltshire and Swindon. To find out more, and to apply, visit our website here.
Enabling works supported through the fund include:
- Clearing a loft space or removing loft boarding.
- Loft-hatch expansion.
- Removing rubble to enable cavity wall insulation.
- Lance installation or scaffolding for necessary access for cavity wall insulation access or boiler installs.
- Necessary structural improvements such as repairs to brickwork or floor joists.
- Lifting flooring or moving furniture.
- Other low cost enabling works will also be considered if they meet eligibility criteria.
