Adults can be vulnerable for many reasons, including age, medical conditions, learning disabilities, low self-esteem, and mental health issues. Vulnerable adults rely on the other adults in their lives to keep them safe from harm, in whatever form that may take. This course supports learners to develop knowledge about how adults can be vulnerable to harm, abuse or exploitation, and to understand their role in keeping them safe. You will learn the signs and symptoms of types of abuse, how to react if someone discloses abuse to you, and the actions to take in the event that you suspect there are safeguarding issues including recording and reporting.
